Peter Ropo Ogungbayi

Biography:

Dr. Peter Ropo OGUNGBAYI is a Chief Technologist in the Computer Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He joined the services of the University in September 2008 and has since made significant contributions to engineering education. He obtained the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

Dr. Ogungbayi has acquired extensive expertise in engineering research, laboratory management, and technical support for teaching and postgraduate research. He has served on several technical and academic committees within the University and has played key roles in the development of engineering laboratory facilities.

Dr. Ogungbayi’s research interests include wireless communications, antenna design, radar communication system, mobile and wireless networks, RF propagation modeling, and energy-efficient (green) wireless communications. He has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly publications in reputable national and international journals.

He is a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and belongs to other relevant professional bodies. In recognition of his research potential and innovation, he was a recipient of the STEP-B Innovators of Tomorrow (IoT) Research Grant Award in 2010.
