The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in September 1978 as the Department of Electrical Engineering until it was renamed to its current name in 2012. The Department has highly skilled and experienced staff. It seeks to admit students who have demonstrated academic ability in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, as well as logical thinking, creativity, curiosity, inventiveness, tenacity, and patience. Students must also have a strong grasp of both verbal and written English.
In order to achieve this, a thorough set of foundation courses must be taken and successfully completed prior to graduation. Aside from mathematics and computer techniques, these courses cover other engineering disciplines, sociology, ethics, and so on.
Since its founding, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department has undergone several reviews which is part of the University regulations that require a periodic review of the curriculum of every department.
