Biography

Dr. Ayinde Mohammed Usman is a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Ilorin. He holds B.Eng and M.Eng degrees from the same department and a PhD from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Stellenbosch University, South Africa, specialising in signal processing and machine learning. Dr. Usman is a registered engineer with COREN. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA. His research interests span data communications, networking systems, wireless communication networks, machine learning applications in biomedical and bioacoustics signal processing, and explainable AI. Drawing on extensive industry experience in telecommunications and power systems, Dr. Usman integrates practical insights into his academic roles. He has authored peer-reviewed articles, presented at international conferences, and held key administrative roles, including level adviser, departmental board of examiners member, and chairman of the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Relations Committee.
