Abdulrahaman Okino Otuoze (B.Eng., M.Eng., and PhD.) is a Reader at the Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Ilorin. Dr. Otuoze has been involved in teaching various Electrical and Electronics Engineering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Ilorin while also undertaking research in the same field. His research interests span the areas of electrical power systems, including power system designs and protection, smart grid implementation, electricity theft detection, microgrid security, and the design of advanced electrical machines. Dr. Otuoze has authored and co-authored over fifty (50) peer-reviewed scientific articles. He is also an active reviewer for many reputable national and international journal outlets. He has positively influenced several undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr. Otuoze has served in several administrative capacities at the Departmental, Faculty, and University-wide levels. He is the immediate past Sub-Dean of the Faculty. He serves as the representative of the Faculty at the University’s Senate Council. He served as the Faculty Representative at the Business Committee of Senate and the Timetable & Room Usage Committee from September 2022 to August 2024. He also serves as the Chairman of the University Certificate Screening Committee of the Faculty of Life Sciences. Recently, he was elected into a joint Senate/Council committee, Capital Project Implementation (monitoring), to represent the indefatigable congregation of the University till 2027. He has served and continues to serve on several other university committees. He was the Chairman of Logistics for the 1st Faculty of Engineering and Technology International Conference (FETiCON) 2023; the Chairman of the Welfare and Entertainment Committee for FETiCON 2024; and the Chairman of Technical for FETiCON 2025. He has also actively served in the organization of other learned academic conferences, including KU8 2023 and Africalics 2024. He has served as the Section Editor of the Nigerian Journal of Technological Development (Scopus-indexed) and is currently the Managing Editor.
Dr. Otuoze is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is a Senior Member of the International Society for Automation and also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE). As a young academic, Dr. Otuoze remains focused on building a research-based career while also contributing to community development.
